The Luminary Cluster is a high trust cluster model. It was initiated in 2010 by a few Hawke's Bay, New Zealand, Principals in response to a changing educational landscape. The cluster was formed out of needs based sharing and has developed into a network of highly tangible and engaged idealists and theorists working with practical models.
Many concepts that the Luminaries discuss and present are a mix of age old teaching facts, proven and unproven theories, possible future ideas and cutting edge student learning, teaching and leadership.As time moves by the strength of the cluster has formed some potent knowledge and could not have reached a fermentation stage of a perfect brew without thousands of internal and external conversations.
To date the Luminaries have created 3 platforms for sharing thinking with the rest of the world.
While the Luminaries may be a closed group, they are not elitist. They aim to make a greater impact on others and to share, share and share so that all students can be inspired to reach there true potential and become entrepreneurs of the future.
